Prix Galien Russia 2014 winners have been announced. Among international innovators, Pfizer was awarded the Best Biotech Product for its heptavalent conjugated pneumococcal vaccine Prevenar 13® and AstraZeneca — for Brilinta® (ticagrelor), an anti-antiplatelet superior to clopidogrel (Plavix) in both efficacy and safety according to a recent clinical study. Prix Galien is awarded worldwide for outstanding achievements in medicine and pharmacy. The event was held in Russia for the second time this year with support of the Ministry of Health and participation of key opinion leaders, such as Alexandr Chuchalin, Vladimir Ivashkin, Eugeniy Nasonov and other famous scientists and physicians, as members of the awards committee.
